Olympia Figure Skating Club is based at the Ice Rink at the Olympia end of East Kilbride Shopping Centre.

Olympia FSC is NISA affiliated and began at the start of the millennium and has grown to be one of the most successful clubs in Great Britain. It all began with just one skating coach, Leanne Collins and a few of her students and now in the year of 2014 has 4 qualified coaches and around 80 members; ranging from Skate UK Level to British Champions.

There are now four coaches within Olympia FSC who work extremely hard to produce the best skaters in the country. Leanne Collins, Diane Dewer, Lorraine Allison and Leanne Whiteside are all national association qualified coaches who take members for private lessons, group lessons, powerskate classes and off-ice fitness based classes. As well as this, both Leanne Collins and Diane Dewer are qualified mentors and and assessors for the skating association and so far Olympia Skating Club has mentored and assessed 11 young coaches for the future. The coaches are always looking for ways to further the Club as well as develop their own learning in order to advance and aim to be the very best in the world of figure skating.

To date Olympia FSC has produced 2 British Novice Ladies Champions, a Scottish Novice Ladies Champion, a Scottish Junior Ladies Champion, a Scottish Junior Mens Champion, a British Junior Ladies Silver Medallist, a British Senior Mens Silver Medallist, a British Junior Ladies Bronze Medallist and ISU International Silver Medallist as well as hundreds of winners and medallists at Open Competitions within the UK.

At present Olympia is the home club to Lewis Gibson who is the reigning Scottish Junior Mens Champion and also Anastasia Vaipen-Law who is ranked 2nd in Great Britain in the Under 15 Novice Ladies.

Olympia currently has 12 IJS Senior, Junior and Novice Skaters.

The Club is proud to have 13 skaters in the Great Britain Development and Performance Squad. This GB Squad was set up to acknowledge talented skaters in order that they may have the opertunity to access any possible available funding in order for them to be able to compete at their highest possible level.

The Club also has had skaters selected to skate for Scotland every year at the NISA CUP which was an event that was organised by the National Ice Skating Association.

Not only do we compete together but we also perform together. Our 4 coaches, Leanne Collins, Diane Dewer, Lorraine Allison and Leanne Whiteside work hard to choreograph and produce Olympia Figure Skating Club's annual Christmas Show; which includes solo skaters, pairs and group numbers.

Back in 2007 on Friday the 12th of January, Olympia FSC was selcted to open Peter Pan On Ice (Holiday On ICE) at the SECC, Glasgow. Leanne C. made up a spectacular Scottish themed routine for us to perform and it's one that, even now, all our skaters can remember.

Olympia Skating Club is a fantastic club which promotes team spirit and a hard work ethic. Whether the skater is a beginner or British Champion, they are made to feel part of the team, part of the family and are encouraged to be the very best that they can be.
